Regional Victorians will now be able to book new licence test appointments more than a month earlier than anticipated following the resumption of testing last week.
VicRoads is now taking appointments for new licence tests in regional Victoria.
New appointments for light vehicle drive tests, learner permit and hazard perception tests can be booked by regional customers from Tuesday 29 September for appointments that are available from Monday 5 October.
Since testing resumed last week, VicRoads has contacted all customers with postponed bookings to arrange a new appointment. Customers who had a postponed appointment but have chosen not to re-book at this time, have been provided with a dedicated number to call when they're ready to take their test.
Licence tests in metropolitan Melbourne remain suspended, as do medical review tests across Victoria, based on the latest advice from Victoria's Chief Health Officer.
Motorcycle and heavy vehicle testing will continue to be available, as they have been throughout the pandemic.
Regional Victorians will be able to book new appointments at their closest VicRoads customer service centre and are reminded that face masks are required. No one should participate in a drive test if they are unwell.
A range of measures, based on advice from the Chief Health Officer, will be followed to ensure drive testing commences safely, including appropriate cleaning and use of disposable seat covers in vehicles used for tests, and proper hand hygiene for customers and instructors.
