Wyndham City is pleased to announce the successful completion of significant lighting and infrastructure upgrades at both Mainview Boulevard Reserve in Truganina and Goddard Street Reserve in Tarneit.
These projects, delivered in partnership with Sport and Recreation Victoria and local sporting clubs, will enhance the facilities for local clubs and the wider community.
At Mainview Boulevard Reserve, the installation of a new LED lighting system and an electronic scoreboard at Oval 1 will benefit both the Truganina Thunder Football Club and Truganina Cricket Club.
The new lighting system will provide improved visibility for night training and matches.
The addition of the new electronic scoreboard will also enhance the match-day experience for players and spectators.
Meanwhile, Goddard Street Reserve has undergone significant lighting improvements, with a new LED lighting system installed at Oval 1 and the existing lighting on Oval 2 upgraded to modern LED fittings.
These upgrades will benefit the Suns Football Netball Club and Tarneit Central Cricket Club, providing improved lighting for training and night-time games.
In addition to the sports field lighting, the reserve now features new open space solar lighting around the perimeter and along key pedestrian pathways.
This solar lighting will enhance the safety and accessibility of the reserve, making it a more welcoming space for the local community, particularly during evening hours.
Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Mia Shaw expressed pride in the completed upgrades, highlighting their positive impact on both the sporting clubs and broader community.
"These lighting and infrastructure upgrades represent our ongoing commitment to supporting local clubs and creating safer, more accessible spaces for all residents of Wyndham," said Cr Shaw.
"We're committed to providing the community with the infrastructure they need to lead more active lifestyles."
