Council is proud to reveal a fresh identity for its ongoing volunteer initiatives - 'MyTRC Volunteer Connect' will be the new face of all things volunteering in our region. Formerly recognised as R U Volunteering, the initiative will still offer the same services and connection with the community.
In addition to a new name and brand we are thrilled to introduce Luke Macdonald as the new Volunteer Services Officer at Tamworth Regional Council. Luke's experience working across both the not for profit and corporate sector, has provided him with a wealth of experience in helping volunteers find the right role for their own volunteering ideas and experiences. Luke is also a volunteer, working closely with local sporting organisations, youth organisations and mental health groups to create a safer and stronger community.
"I'm super excited to be stepping into this vital role which supports organisations and individuals in all of their volunteering needs and aspirations," said Luke.
The new name and brand represent not only a new identity but also a renewed promise from Tamworth Regional Council to the invaluable volunteers who form the backbone of our community. Volunteers infuse life into every facet of our city, from mentoring our youth to supporting the elderly, from fostering sustainability to championing social inclusivity.
"The contribution of volunteers is fundamental to building a vibrant and thriving region." said Gina Vereker, Director Liveable Communities. "Volunteering assists us in directly working towards theme four of Blueprint 100, Build resilient communities'
MyTRC Volunteer Connect offers an online and in person experience to connect organisations who have opportunities for volunteers to help out and the individuals who want to enrich their lives by offering their time to volunteer. Council currently lists volunteering opportunities on its website which has the functionality to connect volunteers and organisations with further improvements on their way for the online process.
In reaffirming our commitment, we look forward to further strengthening the synergy between volunteers, the Council, and the broader community. MyTRC Volunteer Connect stands as a testament to the remarkable impact that can be achieved when a community unites for a common cause.
