New Masters Combines Expedition, Diving Medicine

The University of Plymouth is known for its excellence in marine and healthcare disciplines.
Now it's launching a world-first postgraduate qualification combining the two to support healthcare delivery in some of the world's harshest environments.
The MSc Expedition and Marine Medicine (Diving Medicine) award is the first masters internationally that combines expedition medicine teaching with diving medicine teaching.
It has been developed for medics and healthcare professionals to develop their skills in remote environments, from high mountains to deep seas.
Welcoming applications from all over the world, the course brings together expertise from across the University, along with expedition medicine experts Endeavour Medical, and diving medicine specialists, DDRC Healthcare.
As well as learning about the practicalities of delivering care in austere environments, students will learn about academic research methods, fundamentals of diving practice, and leadership and management needed to approach problems in remote areas on small or large scale.
