Damian Tully has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer for the Mid West Ports Authority (MWPA).
Mr Tully has been acting in the role for the past twelve months and has previously worked as the general manager, operations and logistics at MWPA.
He has more than 20 years' experience in the maritime industry and has executed operations both ashore and at sea.
Mr Tully holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration, a Graduate Diploma in Defence Studies and a Bachelor of Arts (Management).
He is also a graduate of the Australian Defence Force Academy and an Associate Fellow of the Nautical Institute.
Geraldton Port has completed a number of projects over the past 12 months with Mr Tully Acting as CEO, including maintenance dredging of the commercial harbour and navigational channel, and the Wharf 4 deck and rail upgrade.
A number of major projects are at various stages of construction and development including port wide fire-fighting, and the eastern breakwater jetty and Marine Terrace roundabout.
Mr Tully's tenure is effective immediately.
As stated by Ports Minister Rita Saffioti:
"Mr Tully brings more than 20 years' experience working in the maritime industry to this important role.
"He has been acting in the CEO role for the past 12 months, and is a resident of Geraldton. He has demonstrated effective leadership, overseen significant milestones and has become well connected with staff, stakeholders and the community.
