New Mural For Rockdale Train Station: Bayside

The Rockdale Train Station Concourse has become the latest canvas for a creative public art project that is brightening up the daily commute for everyone who passes through this busy thoroughfare.

Council recently put out and Expression calling for local artists to create an artwork for this high-traffic pedestrian walkway that provides the key access route to the station.

Designed by artistic duo Dylan Batty and Louise Zhang this new mural is inspired by their daily commute to and from Rockdale Train Station.

The artwork features Crab Apple Blossom, Black-Eyed Susan Vine, Bougainvillea, Crape Myrtle, Moreton Bay Fig, Callistemon, Eucalyptus, Nasturtium, Bird of Paradise, Water Gum, European Fig, Rose, Ginkgo, Cosmo and Callistemon.

Bayside Council has a proactive arts and culture focus, that aims to strengthen its growing arts community, while encouraging a healthy creative economy.

Bayside Council partnered with Transport Asset Manager and Transport NSW on this project designed to enhance the concourse's vibrancy while improving nighttime safety.
