New online service with Justice of Peace during lockdown

Hawkesbury Library Service has long offered a free service that provides access to a Justice of the Peace (JP) service for community members. With ongoing COVID-19 NSW State Legislated restrictions and the subsequent temporary closure of Hawkesbury Library Service, a temporary zoom JP service is now being trialled.

From Tuesday, 10 August from 10am to midday, a library volunteer Justice of the Peace will be available to provide a limited Justice of the Peace service via zoom. This service will continue every Tuesday for the duration of the lockdown.

The services that are available via zoom are limited due to restrictions imposed by the NSW Department of Communities and Justice however the JP can continue to witness statutory declarations and affidavits via audio-visual link. The Justice of the Peace is not able to certify documents online.

To book a timeslot with a Justice of the Peace, visit the Hawkesbury Library Eventbrite page http://hawkesburylibrary.eventbrite.com and select a convenient time. Currently appointments are limited to 15 minute blocks but they can be extended if required.

IMPORTANT: Reliable internet connection for your computer and or smartphone is essential to access the service.
