New Paramedic Recruits Join Ranks

Ambulance Victoria will have around 40 fresh faces heading out across the state this week to embark on their paramedic careers in Victoria.

The group has spent the last month undertaking intensive training to equip them with the skills they'll need to provide the best possible emergency care to people in their communities.

One of the new recruits, Saleh Amine said his paramedicine journey started in high school, inspired by his older brother who was studying to become a paramedic.

"I was nearing the end of high school, and I wasn't sure what I wanted to do, but I found myself interested in some of the material my brother was studying at the time, and I was inspired to go down that path," he said.

"The recruitment process has been very competitive but it's fantastic to be part of the profession now and I look forward to joining my brother in our careers at Ambulance Victoria."

Sal said the induction program has been enlightening and now he's looking forward to getting on road from next week, working in the metro region.

"I'm most looking forward to dealing with patients and giving them the time and care they need," he said.

"It would also be fantastic to work with my brother in the future as well."

Ambulance Victoria Executive Director Regional Operations Danielle North congratulated the group on completing their four-week induction and welcomed them into the AV ranks.

"It's exciting to see another talented group of paramedics embark on their new careers with Ambulance Victoria," she said.

"Over the last four weeks they will have learned all about our organisation and our commitment to providing Victorians with the best possible care every day.

"They are joining a world-class ambulance service and I look forward to watching them grow in their profession and make a real difference in their communities."
