New Partnership With Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race

We're excited to support Visit Victoria's upcoming 2025 Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race with a new partnership on its 10th anniversary.

The City has increased its sponsorship contribution to $250,000 for this much-loved anchor event in our major events calendar, which runs from Wednesday 29 January to Sunday 2 February 2025.

This year's event attracted 140,000 spectators and participants and generated an economic benefit of $17.8 million to Greater Geelong, showcasing the picturesque coastal and city landscapes of our region on the world stage.

Next year's men's and women's road races will feature a revamped course, including a new loop around the beautiful Geelong Botanic Gardens and reverting to a clockwise direction from the first race in 2015.

The annual road race, supported by the Victoria Government through Visit Victoria, is a showpiece of Geelong's major events calendar.

We are pleased to boost our sponsorship support for the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race to $250,000 funding on its 10th anniversary.

This event is beloved amongst residents and visitors alike because of the spectacular athleticism on show, stunning views, difficult course and exciting spectator experience.

It will feature a new course route and vantage points for spectators, in addition to crowd favourites such as the relentless Challambra climb in Highton.

I can't wait to see our community members and local businesses getting around the athletes, cyclists and families taking part in 2025.

The State Government and the City of Greater Geelong support the event because it means more tourism and more jobs for the Geelong region.
