The McGowan Government is investing $36.5 million in new water and wastewater infrastructure to cater for residential growth in the City of Swan under separate projects announced today by Water Minister Dave Kelly.
Water Corporation will construct an 18km wastewater pipeline from Bullsbrook to Ellenbrook and a 2.6km water pipeline in Henley Brook, with completion expected in late 2023.
Wastewater works will include a new transfer pump station to safely divert flows from Bullsbrook Wastewater Treatment Plant to Beenyup Water Resource Recovery Facility, allowing the Bullsbrook plant to be decommissioned.
A new water pipeline along Starflower Road and Park Street will help transport drinking water to thousands of new and existing households in the fast-growing suburbs of Henley Brook, Ellenbrook and Brabham.
Many properties within the City of Swan are semi-rural, however, population growth in the last decade has seen a significant increase in new residential developments in Perth's north-east.
Population in the City of Swan is expected to nearly double to 310,000 residents by 2051.
The McGowan Government has allocated $358 million to new metropolitan water projects this financial year.
As stated by Water Minister Dave Kelly:

"As the population in Perth and Peel continues to increase our need for essential services does too, which is why we've committed $358 million towards new water projects for the metropolitan area this financial year.
As stated by Swan Hills MLA Jessica Shaw:
"It's important that infrastructure keeps pace with residential development particularly when it comes to vital services such as water and wastewater.
"I welcome this further investment into the growing suburbs of Bullsbrook and Ellenbrook, and I commend the Water Corporation and its contractors for this local job."
As stated by West Swan MLA Rita Saffioti:
"The north-east of our city continues to grow rapidly, and with major investment in projects like the METRONET Morley-Ellenbrook train line, we will only see more people choosing to call this part of Perth home.
"As our community grows, it's essential we deliver the necessary infrastructure to support residential expansion, which is why investment in these new water and wastewater facilities is so important."
