Motorists and truckies who live in and travel through Hume will benefit from new Australian Government-funded projects targeting heavy vehicle safety and productivity.
The funding is part of the Australian Government's nationwide investment of over $34.8 million in 18 projects under the Heavy Vehicle Safety and Productivity Program (HVSPP).
Right here in Hume, the Albanese Government is investing $425,455 into improvements to the Kyeamba Gap Rest Area along Hume Highway.
Locals know that Hume Highway is heavily used by both heavy vehicles and other road users alike, locals will soon see work commencing on the upgrade of the rest area which will deliver much needed improvements.
The HVSPP provides funding to state, territory and local governments for projects that increase safety and productivity for the trucking industry and communities.
