New Report Unveils Global, Regional Youth Employment Trends

On the occasion of International Youth Day on the 12th of August, the ILO will launch a new report on youth employment.

The 11th edition of the Global Employment Trends for Youth (GET for Youth) includes figures and analysis on youth unemployment, globally and broken down by region and by gender.

The ILO's Director-General, Gilbert F. Houngbo and Assistant Director-General, Mia Seppo, will present the report at an online press briefing at 10.30 Geneva time, Thursday 8 August. The briefing will be open to Geneva-based, UNOG-accredited, correspondents. Recognized regional journalists will be able to follow the virtual briefing via YouTube. The link can be requested and will be sent in advance.

The report and all associated materials will be under STRICT EMBARGO until Monday 12 August 2024 at 00:01 AM CEST (22:01 GMT on Sunday 11 August).

Embargoed copies of the report, the press release and other materials can be made available to recognized media on request.

Audio of the briefing will be available to the UNOG press corps and other registered journalists after the press conference.
