New Road Safety Commissioner appointed

Road Safety Minister Michelle Roberts has welcomed the appointment of Mr Adrian Warner as the State's new Road Safety Commissioner.

Mr Warner has more than 30 years' experience in the public sector including in senior leadership roles with both the Commonwealth and Western Australian public service.

An extensive recruitment process for the role was conducted with a selection panel chaired by Commissioner of Police Chis Dawson.

Mr Warner has been appointed for a five-year term.

Mrs Roberts thanked Roger Farley for his contribution while acting as Road Safety Commissioner over recent months.

He will now return to his substantive position as Director of Communications and Engagement for the Road Safety Commission.

As stated by Road Safety Minister Michelle Roberts:

"I really look forward to working with Adrian.

"Adrian has strong credentials in policy and strategy development and has held leadership roles across various organisations.

"I expect that he will bring to this role not merely the professionalism that he has already shown, but a real commitment to road safety in Western Australia.

"Over the past months Roger Farley has acted in an exemplary way while acting in the role and I look forward to continuing to work with him as he returns to his previous role."
