Ararat rural City Council is now accepting applications for funding as part of the Community and Events Grants program.
Providing funds on a 2:1 ratio to a value of up to $5,000 for major events and $3,000 for smaller projects, the grant program assists community groups, sporting clubs and organisations to enhance their facilities, programs, or events across the region.
Chief executive Dr Tim Harrison said Council's program will provide local groups and clubs across the municipality with opportunities to improve their services to the community.
"Supporting a range of initiatives and projects from local groups across our municipality is an important role of our Council," Dr Harrison said.
"Community grants are offered multiple times every year, giving eligible groups the chance to apply for grants of up to $5,000 to deliver projects, facility upgrades and events."
Projects funded in previous rounds include event support for The Country Women's Association Creative Arts Exhibition and Willaura Modern Inc's Iconic Australian Design exhibition and upgrades to facilities for the Ararat Railway Heritage Association and Elmhurst Landcare Group.
"Funding assistance recognises the significant amount of time and effort local groups put towards enhancing and championing community life," he said.
"These grants give local groups and sporting clubs a much-needed boost to expand their facilities and grow, providing many benefits to our region."
Each request will be considered by Council and applicants will then be notified in writing of the outcome.
Applications for the latest round will close mid-December.
