Great news for event organisers in the Northern Territory. A new round of the Northern Territory Government's Event Funding Program (EFP) will open on Monday, 3 February 2025.
Round 2 of the 2024-25 EFP, administered by Northern Territory Major Events Company (NTMEC), is designed to support events that drive economic growth, attracts visitors to the NT, showcase the Territory's unique offerings, support local businesses, and contribute to a vibrant year-round events calendar.
This round of the EFP will introduce a new tiered structure, providing better alignment with the program's key priorities. Event organisers can submit applications under three tiers:
· Flagship - events are strong economic drivers for the Territory
· Signature - events focused on developing capability
· Community - events that celebrate the uniqueness of the Territory.
The EFP continues to fund a diverse range of events, including beloved cultural and community events, major sporting events, and key cultural and music celebrations.
In Round 1 of the 2024-25 Event Funding Program, 14 events were supported, including the inaugural Darwin Comedy Festival, a Darwin Symphony Orchestra regional tour, and the NT Writers Festival, to be held in Alice Springs this year.
