- Upgrade to the intersection of Pinjarra Road and Murray Street planned
- Improvements will include new roundabout, street lighting, bus stops and path connections
- Service relocations now complete, with construction commencing in September
- $2.3 million project funded by the State Blackspot program
A new single-lane roundabout will be constructed at the existing intersection of Pinjarra Road and Murray Street in Pinjarra, improving safety and reducing the likelihood and severity of crashes.
The $2.3 million State Blackspot funded project will also improve pedestrian safety, with new paths to be constructed across both Pinjarra Road and Murray Street. The new connections will address the current lack of dedicated crossing points on either road.
The project will also feature upgrades to street lighting and bus stops.
During construction, there will be a number of detours on both Pinjarra Road and Murray Street, impacting traffic and path users.
Construction is expected to commence in mid-September, with completion expected by the end of the year.

As stated by Transport Minister Rita Saffioti:
"Right across the State, we are undertaking upgrades on key roads to improve safety and reliability, and this is another important project being delivered in the heart of Pinjarra.
"Our Government is investing hundreds of millions of dollars on safety treatments to regional roads, including the delivery of audible edge lines and sealed road shoulderson around 8,500km of the network."
As stated by Murray-Wellington MLA Robyn Clarke:
"This is an incredibly busy intersection, with nearly 15,000 vehicle movements every single day along Pinjarra Road and Murray Street.
"The installation of a roundabout at this intersection will reduce the risk and severity of crashes, with a particular focus on addressing pedestrian safety with the inclusion of key connections for path users.
"We have listened to businesses and residents in the area, and noting pedestrian activity is high in the townsite, it is pleasing to see this project will cater for foot traffic once completed."
