Shellharbour, NSW: The Enchanted Forest, an award-winning storytelling light and sound show loved by the south-coast region returns for a limited season with a new ocean-themed adventure - 'Tides of Treasure'.
Running from Friday 30 May until Sunday 22 June, this year's journey invites guests to follow the glowing trails, meet the ocean's charming residents and find the key to unlock the treasure!
Selling out the past two years, The Enchanted Forest is an immersive nighttime, sensory journey through Shellharbour's Blackbutt Forest Reserve. Each year, a new imaginative narrative is intertwined within the forest canopy, providing a spectacular backdrop to bring the story to life.
New highlights and returning crowd favourites include:
- A new ocean theme, 'Tides of Treasure' inspired by show's coastal locality and community feedback
o Find the lost key to unlock the treasure chest at the bottom of the ocean
- Light projections inspired by mysteries of the deep blue
- Holograms of creatures of the sea and the protagonist (hint: it reaches far and wide)
- Interactive projections & light-reactive spheres that react to touch
- The glow of bioluminescence interacting with guests' movements
- A dreamy ocean filled with floating, ethereal sea life
This fun nighttime experience is presented by Laservision in partnership with Shellharbour City Council.
Reflecting on the original vision for The Enchanted Forest three years ago, Laservision's Art Director, Angela Davis, said that 'Tides of Treasure' is a natural progression.
"The beauty of the landscape along with the interconnection of the forest and the sea, in a location renowned for spots such as The Farm, has provided countless inspiration for the team."
"We are also excited to unveil the new interactive zones this year. It's my hope that the energy the team puts into producing these new elements, appropriately captures the energy the wider community has for our show."
Shellharbour Mayor Chris Homer said he was proud to see the continued partnership with Laservision bringing this much-loved event to life once again.
"The Enchanted Forest has become a highlight on our city's calendar, an experience that brings families and friends together in a truly magical setting. Events like this foster stronger social connections, boost our local economy and enhance community well-being - all while showcasing one of our beautiful natural assets, Blackbutt Forest."
"With this year's ocean-inspired theme, I know visitors will be enchanted once again. Make sure you don't miss the opportunity to explore this unforgettable adventure with your loved ones."
The Enchanted Forest runs nightly, opening on Friday 30 May and closing on Sunday 22 June.
