Hundreds of Hills Shire residents came together on Saturday to celebrate the opening of Stringer Road Reserve in North Kellyville.
The new sporting reserve features an impressive array of facilities, including four multi-purpose natural turf sports fields which can be reconfigured into two ovals, four cricket practice nets, two full-sized basketball courts, 1.25km of shared pathways and a children's playground.
There is also an amenities building with accessible toilets, changing rooms, a kiosk, a referee room, and storage. Additional highlights include a 250-space car park, specialist LED sports field lighting, an advanced water management system to support sustainable operations and much more.
Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne, marked the occasion by unveiling a commemorative plaque and welcoming sporting clubs to their new home, including the newly formed North Kellyville Foxes Football Club and the established Rouse Hill Rams Cricket Club.
"North Kellyville is growing, and so is the demand for quality sporting facilities," Mayor Bryne said.
"This project underlines Council's support for our sports-loving community, ensuring residents have access to high-quality infrastructure that promotes healthy and active lifestyles.
"It is heartening to see so many people enjoying this wonderful space. Whether you're part of a local sports club, a family visiting the playground, or someone looking for a peaceful place to relax, Stringer Road Reserve offers something for everyone."
Residents celebrated the day with free gelato, coffee, and family-friendly sporting activities, while a special cricket match organised by the Rouse Hill Rams was available to watch.
Stringer Road Reserve is Kellyville's second sports complex, following the opening of Samantha Riley Drive Reserve in 2023.
