New WA heritage trail celebrates tiny town's history

  • Heritage trail in South West town of Dardanup officially opens
  • Signage tells the stories of a dozen historic locations across the townsite
  • Partly funded by $30,000 McGowan Government election commitment
  • The tiny town of Dardanup is celebrating its rich history with the opening of a new heritage trail, telling the fascinating stories of its first inhabitants.

    The trail covers 12 historic locations across the townsite. Further signage extends to the nearby areas of Waterloo, Ferguson and Wellington Mills.

    The Old State School, Dardanup Post Office and Thomas Little Memorial Hall are just some of the landmarks featured.

    Each sign displays a QR code linking to more details on the Dardanup Heritage Collective website.

    As stated by Environment Minister Reece Whitby:

    "It's a pleasure to officially open the Dardanup Heritage Trail and learn the fascinating history of this tiny town.

    "The McGowan Government is committed to investing in the Collie-Preston region, helping diversify the local economy by delivering exciting attractions and experiences.

    "Dardanup is the gateway to the Ferguson Valley, and I encourage all visitors to soak up the history of this stunning area."
