New Weighbridge Installation At Jindabyne Landfill

Freshly poured concrete for the new Jindabyne Landfill Weighbridge

Jindabyne residents and businesses are advised that the installation of the new weighbridge at Jindabyne Landfill is taking place this week. Traffic control is in place, so users can expect some delays when accessing the landfill.

This upgrade will bring an end to the temporary manual calculation of waste disposal charges at Jindabyne Landfill, following the discovery of significant issues with the old weighbridge during routine equipment inspections in 2023.

A construction crew are back on site this week to complete the installation, after pouring the foundations in August for the new weighbridge's concrete footings.

This upgrade will significantly improve the speed and efficiency of Jindabyne Landfill operations for both business and residential customers.

Council anticipates the new weighbridge will be fully operational by the end of September 2024, with weight-based disposal charges to resume as soon as the new equipment is calibrated and fully brought online.

Council appreciates the community's patience and understanding while the weighbridge is installed.
