We have appointed 10 young Australians to the Youth Advisory Council on International Climate Change.
This diverse group of 10 young Australians will provide their unique perspectives and ideas for designing and implementing ambitious climate policy and action.
The council is a platform for the voices of young Australians to be heard loud and clear, both in our national conversations and on the global stage. It will ensure the insights, ideas, and expertise of young Australians are integrated into Australia's international climate change negotiations. This includes engagement in the Paris Agreement, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) process, and our broader efforts to address climate change.
The council's remit and work plan will be co-designed with DCCEEW. This will ensure the council is empowered to lead and drive initiatives.
We look forward to working with the council over the course of 2025. Their term runs until December 2025.
