On Monday, 22 July, the 2024/25 Mitchell Youth Council was officially sworn in at the Council Chambers in Broadford. This leadership program gives young people aged 12-24 a platform to voice their opinions on issues that impact them and advocate for all young people in the Shire.
This year's Youth Council comprises of young people from across the Shire with a range of passions and interests. Acting Mayor, Councillor Nathan Clark, expressed his enthusiasm for working with the Youth Council to enhance the lives of Mitchell's younger residents. "Senior Councillors gain valuable insights from the Youth Council regarding the amenities and services desired by our youth," Councillor Clark said.
