Newbury: Force Labor Minister to Testify on CFMEU Misconduct

Liberal Party Victoria

Senior Allan Labor Government Minister, Sonya Kilkenny, has confirmed she was aware of allegations of improper behaviour within the construction division of the CFMEU as early as at least last year.

Stunningly, Ms Kilkenny, the Minister for Planning, has also confirmed she did nothing meaningful once she became aware of the allegations and failed to make referrals to Victoria Police or the relevant portfolio Ministers.

Ms Kilkenny confirmed she did not take any serious action. The Minster today refused to provide any details of the allegations, or specifics of when they were put to her.

Shadow Minister for Planning, James Newbury, said: "With each day, the truth about the level of Labor's knowledge of thuggish union behaviour is becoming clearer.

"The Minister for Planning has admitted knowing about the rotten behaviour, and that she didn't take serious action.

"The Premier must commit to a Royal Commission into this serious misconduct where the Minister for Planning is compelled to provide public evidence."
