Newly Elected Council Appoints Portfolio Leads

Leeton Shire Council

At last night's Ordinary Council Meeting, a range of portfolios were assigned to the newly elected Councillors.

The portfolios enable the nominated Councillors to be the elected champions and relationship managers for these important matters, driving initiatives and enhancing engagement with the community and stakeholders.

Following is the list of portfolios and the associated responsible Councillors (for the length of the current Council term: October 2024 – September 2028):

Mayor Cr George Weston, who has taken on the portfolios of 'Welcoming Leeton' and 'WR Connect', said the designations are important pillars of Council's advocacy efforts and service delivery.

"Each portfolio provides the associated Councillor with an opportunity to develop and maintain a high level of knowledge in a specified field which can help keep Council better informed and advance the delivery of Council's strategic priorities.

"The portfolios will also help ensure that Council effectively addresses the needs of the Leeton Shire community," said Mayor Weston.
