Two men have been charged after a vehicle allegedly crashed into a shop in Sydney's Inner West.
About 5.30am today (Tuesday 19 September 2023), emergency services were called to King Street, Newtown, following reports of a crash.
On arrival, officers from Inner West Police Area Command found a utility had left the roadway and crashed into a business.
A crime scene was established, and investigations commenced into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The driver, a 24-year-old man, was treated at the scene for minor injuries before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for mandatory testing.
He was arrested and taken to Newtown Police Station, where he was charged with drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous.
The man was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear at Newtown Local Court on Monday 13 November 2023.
The 33-year-old male passenger was also taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital with minor injuries.
He was arrested and taken to Newtown Police Station, where he was charged with breach of bail.
The man was refused bail to appear at Newtown Local Court tomorrow (Wednesday 20 September 2023).
