Works will soon start on the reconstruction of the Nerriga Road and Kings Highway intersection.
This project is the fourth stage of the Nerriga Road upgrade, funded by the NSW Government under the Monaro-Palerang Roads Package.
Initial works are expected to begin on Monday 29 August. The project will continue over the next three to four months. Initial activities will include site establishment, adjusting utilities, fencing, erosion and sediment control, clearing and grubbing.
Under this fourth stage of the Nerriga Road upgrade, approximately 580m of sealed road on Nerriga Road and 285m on Kings Highway will be improved. The works will involve the realignment, widening and sealing of both roads, installing associated drainage infrastructure and the rehabilitation and revegetation of areas disturbed during the project.
No full road closures are proposed as part of this project; however the works will be subject to traffic control arrangements, both during and outside of regular working hours.
Road users should expect delays to traffic movements through the site during periods of work. Drivers should consider using an alternative route if there is one available for their destination.
Working hours are Monday-Friday, 6.30am-5.30pm and weekends 6.30am-2pm.
