Nick Cummins appointed CEO of Cricket Victoria

The Board of Cricket Victoria is pleased to announce the permanent appointment of Nick Cummins as the company's new Chief Executive Officer.

Mr Cummins has been acting in the interim capacity since the departure of Andrew Ingleton in April.

Mr Cummins joined Cricket Victoria in November 2019 as General Manager of BBL, Commercial and Marketing after spending nearly three years in Hobart as CEO of Cricket Tasmania.

He was formerly General Manager of the Sydney Thunder and has previously held senior marketing and commercial roles with Betfair, Ford and Fosters.

Cricket Victoria Chair Dr David Maddocks said, "After a thorough process, the Board and I are delighted to confirm Nick's appointment as the next CEO. We are confident Nick is the right person to lead the next successful chapter of Victorian cricket."

"Nick's business acumen together with his broad experience across Australian cricket delivers Cricket Victoria the leadership and strategic direction we need for the future. Throughout the recruitment process and in his time acting in the role, Nick has demonstrated his abilities to sharpen the focus on our priorities, build financial sustainability and improve our cricket excellence. We have a fantastic venue in St Kilda and Nick will lead the next phase of its evolution while being a strong and vocal advocate for cricket in the post-COVID landscape," Dr Maddocks said.

Mr Cummins said he was excited about the opportunity to build on the success of Victorian cricket.

"I'd like to thank the Board for their support and I'm excited by what our organisation can achieve in the years ahead," Mr Cummins said.

"Victorian cricket has a proud history on and off the field and we're ready to build on that. I want the next generation of players to have a noticeably improved experience with our game - in whatever form that takes. Whether it be better scheduling, better facilities or better support, we have a duty to try and leave the game in better shape than we found it."

"Cricket Victoria is a diverse business to lead. Between our fantastic venue, our Big Bash and state teams and our broad participation base, there is lots to work on. I'm looking forward to the challenge and to spending more time with the Victorian cricket community when our COVID landscape allows," Mr Cummins said.
