Nominations are now open for this year's WA Health Excellence Awards.
For the first time, the community is encouraged to nominate a standout frontline Western Australian healthcare worker in the 7NEWS Health Heroes category. This new award acknowledges the extraordinary care delivered by doctors, nurses and midwives, allied health professionals, volunteers, ward clerks and other WA Health staff.
The Minister for Health Award will once again recognise a healthcare professional for their lifetime achievements and long-standing commitment to improving health care in Western Australia, as nominated by their peers.
Health teams will also be vying for top honours in nine categories that reflect the incredible work done by health professionals from across the vast health care system including awards for excellence in –
- Preventive health
- Mental health
- Person-centred care
- Safety and quality
- Workplace wellbeing and culture
- Research and innovation
- Sustainability
- Aboriginal health
- Rural and remote healthcare
WA Health is asking teams and individuals who deliver public health services and programs to share their stories of innovation, excellence and achievement by entering the 2023 awards.
