Nominations are open now until Friday 17 December 2021 for the NSW Local Citizen of the Year Awards Program 2022, so don't wait - give the nod and help get our community groups and hardworking individuals the recognition they deserve.
2022 Australia Day events will be held in towns and villages throughout the region with award ceremonies to celebrate the achievements of community members, organisations and events that make the Snowy Monaro such a great place to be.
Snowy Monaro Regional Council Chief Executive Officer, Peter Bascomb is calling on locals who know of someone making a difference in their town or village, to nominate them for this year's Australia Day Awards.
"Regional and rural areas like the Snowy Monaro depend upon the hard work of volunteers and community groups," said Mr Bascomb.
"Too often these individuals and groups are taken for granted, and their achievements and contributions to our communities go unsung. The 2022 Australia Day Awards, supported by the Australia Day Council of NSW, are a fitting opportunity to give these people groups the recognition they deserve."
Nomination forms are available at all Council offices, libraries and visitor centres. Forms are also available online through the Council website. Nominations close 12pm Friday 17 December 2021.
