Lockington residents are encouraged to play a pivotal role in their community's evolution by participating in the Lockington Place Based Plan Committee.

Mayor of Campaspe Shire Rob Amos said the formation of this community committee signifies the first step in the development of a Place Based Plan tailored for Lockington.

"Place Based Plans focus on enhancing the fabric of our towns. This process encompasses actively involving community members, understanding their needs, and aligning the plan with their aspirations. As a Lockington resident, what vision do you hold for your town – its ambiance, aesthetics, and functionality?"

By becoming part of the Lockington Place Based Plan Committee, residents have the opportunity to shape the town's future.

The committee's responsibilities encompass fostering engagement with the wider Lockington community, keeping residents informed about plan progress, monitoring plan development, and ultimately authorising the completed plan before being presented to Council for endorsement.

"Your involvement allows you to articulate the ambitions and objectives that reflect the desires of your community and drive positive change within Lockington.

"We know that there is already a strong community-led planning group in Lockington, so the formation of a Place Based Planning committee for the town will compliment and work with them to ensure Council support for the initiatives outlined in the future Place Based Plan.

"Members of the Lockington planning group are welcome to submit an Expression of Interest to be on the Place Based Planning committee as well," Mayor Amos noted.
