Residents of the Tongala community are being urged to nominate to the Tongala Township Facility Plan Committee.
Campaspe Shire Mayor Chrissy Weller said this was the significant opportunity for residents to engage in the future development of their town and its assets.
"While we called for nominations earlier this month, we received an insufficient amount. We require somewhere between seven to eleven members on the Township Facility Plan Committee.
"This committee will provide proposals for the future of key community assets within Tongala. For example, halls, playgrounds, pool, and recreation reserve.
"Committee members will review all relevant documentation relating to the individual assets and provide recommendations on whether the asset is operating at a required standard, whether it needs refurbishment, or if it is no longer required.
"We have recently simplified the process, making it easier for the community to get involved and contribute to shaping their town."
The committee is skills based. Members must have background in either business, finance, construction, tourism, law, planning, real estate, recreation, or social wellbeing, in order to make informed decisions on the future of town assets.
To nominate, go to Council's website under the section 'Now Open' and complete the quick and easy online form. This webpage also includes the Terms of Reference which details all commitments and requirements members will need to understand.
