Last year, more than 200 people gathered at the Mornington Racecourse to celebrate the Peninsula's most outstanding businesses. It was a night of recognition and inspiration as we celebrated the many achievements of businesses in the region. Last year, more than 100 businesses entered the awards, with 28 of these recognised as finalists. Nine category winner and one business of the year was awarded with prizes worth more than $11,000. This year we're doing it all again and we would love our local businesses to nominate.
There are nine categories your business can enter:
- Creative
- Retail
- Tourism
- Hospitality
- Trade, building and construction
- Agriculture and manufacturing
- Health and community
- Start up
- Professional services.
One category award winner will also be selected as Business of the Year. This will be awarded to the business with the highest scoring individual application across the nine categories as determined by the judging panel.
There are many reasons to enter your business: the Awards recognise innovation, sustainability and excellence. It gives businesses the opportunity to showcase the excellent work they do in their industry. Placing as a finalist or winning is good for morale and marketing. The Awards can also be used as a business development opportunity to make improvements, be inspired and learn from the success of others.
Applications open on Tuesday 13 June and close Monday 14 August. Give your business and your team a boost by nominating for an award. Any business located within the Mornington Peninsula Shire municipality is eligible to enter, whatever their business size.
Businesses can enter via an online form with questions to demonstrate why their business is the best in its field. Entry into the Awards is free.
Finalists and winners will be celebrated at the Awards gala ceremony and dinner on 15 November at RACV Cape Schanck.

Quotes attributable to winners of 2022:
"Being recognised as a winner in the recent awards brings further credibility and increased brand awareness of our business to the region. We hope this will enable us to help more local businesses benefit from our services and grow."Mark Field, CEO and Founder of Prof Consulting
"Winning this award really does help to bolster our fortitude in providing an outstanding, innovative health and social service to the local community on the Peninsula. That people have recognised the dedication of the whole team, is humbling and inspiring, all at once. Thank you." Dr Floyd Gomes, GP, Director and Founder of Atticus Health
"Winning the recent Business Excellence Award in the Creative Industry category felt like an official stamp of validation for what we worked so hard for over the last 8 years. As any small business owner knows, building a business can be a 24/7 task and can feel lonely and isolating. Winning the award was a huge boost and helped us get to know and connect with like-minded business owners living right here on the Peninsula."Kerstin Begley, Founder of Little Woodworkers
"The process for entering awards allows me to reflect on what our business has achieved over the last 12 months or so – but also our journey since we started 4 years ago. It's a great way to realise all the great things that have happened since we opened – and makes all the hard work worthwhile! But then to be told you are the winner; that is an amazing feeling! There are some fantastic agricultural businesses and manufacturers on the Peninsula, and these awards help you realise that your business is up with them across many facets of running a business – so it helps you know that you are definitely on the right track!Richard Jeffares, CEO and Founder of Two Bays Brewing Co
