The Tasmanian Government is calling for nominations for individuals, groups and organisations who deserve recognition for their work in the biosecurity sector.
The Tasmanian Biosecurity Awards provide a platform to acknowledge those who have gone above and beyond to help protect the state's environment, primary industries and economy and to promote positive biosecurity change in our industries and the Tasmanian community.
Nominations for the Tasmanian Biosecurity Awards close on 30 September 2024.
The two award categories are the Tasmanian Community Biosecurity Award, and the Tasmanian Industry Biosecurity Award.
Last year's winners were:
Minister for Primary Industries and Water, Jane Howlett, said Robyn and Nic showed strong leadership in helping to protect Tasmania's agricultural sector and safeguarding our state from biosecurity threats, and I look forward to a strong field of nominations this year.
"Tasmania's agriculture sector has never been more important and is the backbone of our economy and way of life," Minister Howlett said.
"The 2024-25 Budget drives the delivery of the 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future and includes efforts to protect our borders against pest and disease incursions and support those who do this.
"The Budget backs our farmers and champions our agricultural producers who put food on our tables, provide thousands of jobs, and support our rural and regional communities."
