Nominations are now open for this year's Northern Territory Training Awards.
The awards, now in its 70th year, recognises outstanding achievers in the vocational education and training (VET) sector including local businesses, training organisations, apprentices, trainees, and students.
The VET sector is shaping the future of the NT, opening doors to new skills and rewarding careers for Territorians of all ages and backgrounds.
It's not just about filling demand in key industries like tourism, defence, agriculture, gas and mining - it's also about supporting our communities through caring for others, teaching, training and the arts.
Be part of something amazing and nominate yourself or encourage others to nominate across a variety of categories for individuals and businesses.
Individual categories:
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year
• Austin Asche Apprentice of the Year
• School-based Apprentice or Trainee of the Year
• Trainee of the Year
• VET for Secondary Schools Student of the Year
• VET Teacher / Trainer of the Year
• Vocational Student of the Year.
Business categories:
• Industry Collaboration of the Year
• Large Employer of the Year
• Large Training Provider of the Year
• Small Employer of the Year
• Small Training Provider of the Year.
Last year's finalists represented a wide range of industries including business, civil works, electro technology, mechanical, air conditioning and refrigeration, aquaculture, maritime, agriculture, training and assessing, health, community services, beauty services, and early childhood.
Winners will be announced at the gala awards dinner on Saturday 13 September in Darwin.
Eligible winners will go on to represent the Territory at the Australian Training Awards.
