Cessnock City Council invites members of the community to celebrate our local heroes by nominating them for the 2025 Australia Day Awards. This prestigious event recognises individuals and groups who have made remarkable contributions to the local community over the past year and beyond.
Residents are encouraged to nominate fellow citizens and organisations in the following categories:
- Citizen of the Year
- Senior Citizen of the Year
- Young Citizen of the Year
- Young Female Achiever
- Community Event of the Year
- Sports Award, Environment Award
- Young Citizen Environment Award
- Heritage Award
- Community Award
Cessnock City Council General Manager Ken Liddell encourages residents to nominate someone they think should be recognised this year.
"These awards are a wonderful opportunity to recognise and celebrate the exceptional individuals and groups who significantly contribute to our community," said Mr Liddell.
"Nominations are now open and I urge everyone to take part and nominate those who have made a meaningful impact."
The winners will be announced on Australia Day 2025 at Performance Arts Culture Centre Cessnock.
