Nominations Open for 2025 Toowoomba Australia Day Awards

Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) is reminding residents to lodge nominations for our outstanding achievers who will be considered for 2025 Toowoomba Region Australia Day awards.

TRC Australia Day co-ordinating committee chair Cr James O'Shea is urging residents to finalise nominations by the end of October.

"Our local government area has hundreds of citizens who devote their time and expertise to running community organisations and events that contribute to all sectors across the Region," Cr O'Shea said.

"Our community is greatly enriched by the efforts of the volunteers whose passion and enthusiasm keeps their respective groups or events running.

"We all know someone who contributes countless hours of assistance and run facilities or events for the benefit of fellow residents. I encourage residents to nominate these selfless individuals and community groups or events for the other categories.

"It is a fitting reward for any of these people to be nominated and then considered for the various award categories.

"Taking a few minutes to complete an online nomination form is a way to honour someone you know who has stepped up during the past year, or who selflessly volunteers at a community group or organisation."

Cr O'Shea said lodging nominations by October 31 allows local Australia Day committees time to review and judge categories in readiness for next year's award presentations.

Cr O'Shea said residents were welcome to complete the online nomination form at www.tr.qld.gov.au/australiaday
