- Two new categories to honour cultural responsiveness, and disability and inclusion
- Winning schools to receive $20,000 prize
The quest is on to find the State's top public schools.
Education Minister Dr Tony Buti today announced nominations for the WA Education Awards 2023 are now open.
The WA Education Awards highlight the exceptional achievements, dedication and innovation of WA public schools and celebrate the important role they play in shaping the lives of young people.
There are two new categories in this year's awards (Excellence in cultural responsiveness and Excellence in disability and inclusion), bringing the total number of categories to five.
The award categories are:
- Excellence in school leadership;
- Excellence in teaching and learning (primary);
- Excellence in teaching and learning (secondary);
- Excellence in cultural responsiveness; and
- Excellence in disability and inclusion.
Nominations for the awards close 22 September 2023.
Four finalists will be selected for each category and winners will be announced later this year.
Winning schools will receive $20,000 to go towards a project or program, while finalists will receive $5,000.
The WA Education Awards 2023 are sponsored by Lift Alliance, Edith Cowan University, Beilby Downing Teal, AGL Perth Energy and Seven West Media.
