On 23 October 2019, the Bureau of the FIFA Council decided to appoint a normalisation committee for the Comoros Football Association (FFC), in accordance with art. 14 par. 1a) and art. 8 par. 2 of the FIFA Statutes.
This decision has been taken in connection with the FFC electoral process, which has not been conducted in line with the statutory requirements applicable to members of FIFA.
The normalisation committee will have the following tasks:
- to run the daily affairs of the FFC;
- to revise the FFC Statutes, the FFC Electoral Code and the FFC Code of Ethics in order to ensure their alignment with the FIFA Statutes, regulations and requirements, and to ensure that they are submitted correctly to the FFC Congress for adoption;
- to revise the statutes and the electoral code of the three FFC leagues (Grande Comore, Mohéli and Anjouan) to ensure their alignment with the new FFC Statutes and the FIFA Statutes and requirements, and to ensure that they are submitted correctly to the leagues concerned for adoption;
- finally, to organise and supervise elections at all levels of the FFC on the basis of the new statutes and electoral codes.
The members of the normalisation committee will be appointed soon following a joint FIFA-CAF mission to Moroni. The mandate of the normalisation committee will expire on 30 September 2020 at the latest.
