North Sydney Seeks Public Input on 10-Year Plan

North Sydney Council

If you have thoughts on how North Sydney can meet the challenges and opportunities facing us over the next ten years, now is the time to have your say.

Until 23 June, everyone in our community is being invited to 'Have your say on our next ten years' and help shape the future of the North Sydney local government area, through five online surveys.

The surveys and related Discussion Papers acknowledge that North Sydney is facing new pressures and opportunities related to local and global trends, including increasing population and changing demographics.

Council is asking the community to consider how these and other trends will impact North Sydney's future, across five focus areas: Culture and Creativity, Economic Development, Integrated Transport, Open Space and Recreation, and Social Inclusion.

Feedback collected through the surveys will help inform North Sydney Council's new Community Strategic Plan for 2025-2035.

Everyone who completes a survey has the option to go in the draw to win one of four $100 gift vouchers.

Mayor Zoë Baker said, "We want everyone in the North Sydney community to have their say on our next ten years and play a meaningful role in deciding where we want to be and how we'll get there. Your feedback is crucial in helping us identify our community's needs and priorities and understanding how we can work together to deliver the outcomes.

"This will be a true partnership between Council and community, and we want everyone to feel empowered to participate in and influence local decision-making. Please have your say on North Sydney's next ten years and help us create a future that reflects the needs and aspirations of our whole community."

The community is also invited to online community forums to hear from a panel of experts who will provide insights and encourage evidence-based discussion about the future of North Sydney. Forums on Social Inclusion and Open Space and Recreation held over the past few weeks have already generated valuable discussion and community feedback.
