The new Larapi* Child and Family Learning Centre will be open to families in the Wynyard area in coming weeks.
The Rockliff Liberal Government is delivering on its $28 million commitment to build six new Child and Family Learning Centres across the State.
Minister for Education, Children and Youth, Roger Jaensch, visited the newly-completed centre, located adjacent to the Table Cape Primary School, on Tuesday.
"This centre will provide access to a variety of important services and supports for local families with children aged 0-5 years," Minister Jaensch said.
"Like all our Child and Family Learning Centres, the development of the Wynyard centre has been community-led, with a Local Enabling Group comprised of representatives from service providers, educators and community members involved in its design.
"As part of our 2021 election commitment, the Rockliff Liberal Government has been providing free access to speech and language pathologists, social workers and school psychologists in CFLCs since February 2022."
Minister Jaensch thanked Burnie-based contractor Stubbs Construction for its work during construction, as well as members of the Local Enabling Group who helped shape the centre.
"Our Government is investing in the education and wellbeing services our youngest learners and their families need to thrive, while also supporting Tasmanian jobs during construction."
Larapi is expected to open to families in coming weeks.
