Northern Territory Gears Up for Record Motorsport Year 2025

The Northern Territory is set for its biggest year of motorsport yet, with the CLP Finocchiaro Government unveiling a jam-packed 2025 events calendar.

With more than 80% of ticket holders coming from interstate-and international fans from the USA, UK, and NZ-the Territory is reinforcing its status as a premier motorsport destination.

Minister for Major Events, Marie-Clare Boothby, said: "Events like these draw fans and competitors from across the country and the world, which is great for our economy."

"Working with NTMEC to deliver these events, we want locals and visitors to recognise the Territory as a top destination for motorsport."

"Not only is it an opportunity for rev heads to come to the Territory for all the motorsport action, it's also a chance for them to explore and experience our region."

Minister for People, Sport and Culture Jinson Charls said: "These events aren't just great for fans-they also inspire young Territorians to dream big and get involved in motorsports."

"It's an incredible opportunity for families, friends, and local motorsport clubs to come together and celebrate the sport they love."

Highlights on the calendar include:

betr Darwin Triple Crown Supercars Indigenous Round: 20-22 June, Hidden Valley.

A much-anticipated motorsport event full of high-speed racing action, including the Supercars Championship.

Red CentreNATS: 5-7 September, Blatherskite Park, Alice Springs.

Serious horsepower from all over the country will head to Alice Springs, with huge prize money up for grabs in the Heavy Hitters Drag Racing Competition.

Motocross World Championship (MXGP): 19-21 September, Hidden Valley.

Bringing the world's top motocross riders to the Top End for a weekend of world-class racing, which will be broadcast to more than 100 countries. More than 80% of ticket holders are from interstate, with international attendees from USA, UK and NZ.

Hidden Valley Drag Racing Association Public Officer Matt Abel said he's excited to see Nitro Up North become part of a week of drags and racing action across the NT.

"Motorsport fans can now undertake the ultimate road trip from Darwin to Alice Springs and get their fix at three racing events.

"It's also a great opportunity for Territory racers to participate in a packed program against some of the best in the country."
