Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a series of criminal damages which have occurred in the Geelong area over the past three months, Victoria Police say.
Investigators believe at least two offenders are responsible for a number of incidents where letterboxes and telephone booths have been damaged by homemade explosive devices.
The incidents have occurred at night or in the early hours of the morning and investigators believe the offenders may be using illegal fireworks to cause the damage.
On 10 July a letterbox in Belkan Court, St Albans Park was blown up around 7.30pm.
On 15 July a phone box in Hollyrod Avenue, Newton was damaged about 12.10am.
A telephone box in St Albans Road, Thomson was damaged about 1.30am on 5 August.
Another phone box was damaged on 9 August at 3am on Point Lonsdale Road, Point Lonsdale.
On 2 October at 11.10pm a phone box on Heyers Road, Grovedale was damaged.
On 11 October at about 11:30PM a letterbox in Blackgate Road, Torquay, was damaged.
On 16 October a phone box in Dorothy Street, Leopold was damaged about 3.20am.
A letterbox was blown up on Clifton Springs Road, Clifton Springs about 11.40pm.
On 19 October a letterbox in Bluestone School Road, Connewarre, was damaged between 9 – 10PM.
