Mayor's Message
This Saturday 17 December we are excited to welcome young people and their friends and family to Zummer Fest at Gippsland Performing Arts Centre.
Bringing together music, art, food and fun, the Zummer Fest was created by The Collective and Latrobe City Youth Council to offer local young people with an event to call their own.
The full-day festival will run from 11am - 9pm, with headline acts including Teenage Dads, Darcy Fox and Timothy Wolf. There will also be a silent disco and performances from local dance studio Danceworks 114, along with activities with local artist PollyannaR and Gratitude Cookies.
An array of food trucks and vendors will be available throughout the day, along with face painting and live shows from Wacky Wombat Entertainment.
On behalf of Council, I would like to thank the members of The Collective and our Youth Council for working collaboratively to bring this event together.
Formed earlier this year, The Collective is a team of local creative producers aged from 16-25 who have been mentored by the GPAC team.
Together with members of our Youth Council, they have developed the festival program and arranged different aspects of the day, learning crucial leadership skills along the way.
Latrobe City Council is committed to empowering young people by creating opportunities to learn, lead and work together. Zummer Fest aims to achieve just that, and we hope you can join us.

Project Update: Moe Revitalisation Project
The Moe Revitalisation Project is now underway. The project will see the construction of a youth space including a skate park for all skill levels, a play space, barbeque and picnic area, green spaces and associated amenities.
Latrobe City Council is delivering this project in partnership with the Victorian Government. The project will be built on George Street in Moe.
Alternative parking on George Street can be found at the site of the old skate park, opposite Woolworths.
Typical project working hours will be between 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday (except in special circumstances).
Works are expected to be completed by mid-2023. Every effort will be made to minimise the impacts to the community during the construction works.
From Monday 5 December, fencing will be erected around the site with preliminary work including clearing of the area. When possible, some fencing will be removed to allow for car parking when works are not being conducted.
The new 100 space car park opposite TM&H Mitre 10 is estimated to be completed in mid-December.
Traralgon Car Parking Review - User Survey
Latrobe City has commenced a review of the car parking supply and utilisation within the Traralgon Activity Centre. We are conducting a town centre visitation and car parking survey between Monday 12 December 2022 and until Friday 20 January 2023. The survey can be accessed and completed online at the following link: www.surveymonkey.com/r/traralgoncentreparking
