The Australian College of Nursing (ACN) is excited to announce that applications are now open for a range of ACN Foundation scholarships, grants and awards to support nurses to advance their skills and scope of practice.
The scholarships offer support to nurses in undergraduate and postgraduate aged care, nursing and midwifery courses as well as scholarships for First Nations students studying entry-level health courses.

Graduate Certificate Scholarships for First Nations Nurse Leaders, Sponsored by HESTA – two scholarships available for First Nations nurses to complete an ACN Graduate Certificate course of their choice, to commence in 2023.
Anna M Shepherd Nursing in the Community Scholarship, Sponsored by Regal - full registration to complete the Mid-Career Leadership Program in 2023, available to a registered community nurse currently employed in a community setting. Valued $5,000.
Graduate Certificate Nursing Scholarship, Sponsored by Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health – 20 scholarships available for registered nurses to undertake selected ACN Graduate Certificate courses including Cancer Nursing, Community and Primary Health Care Nursing, Critical Care Nursing, Digital Health (NEW), Leadership and Management, Orthopaedic Nursing or Perioperative Nursing.
Including, five scholarships available to First Nations nurses and five available to nurses working in rural and remote areas of Australia.
Eric Murray Achiever Award, sponsored by the late Eric Murray – $1,500 available to an ACN Student currently enrolled in an ACN Graduate Certificate Course or ACN Immunisation for Health Practitioner course.
Laura Saunderson Aged Care Fund – two $4,000 scholarships available for registered nurses working in aged care within Western Australia who are undertaking postgraduate study or continuing professional development to benefit or related to the practice of aged care nursing. This scholarship is open to members and non-members.
Featured member exclusive scholarships
Patricia Slater Award – full registration, travel and accommodation to attend the 2023 NNF, available to a registered or enrolled nurse who is a Member of ACN and within the first three years of completing their nursing qualification. Applicants must be working in a health facility in rural or remote area Australia.
Annie M Sage Memorial Scholarship - $10,000 available to a registered nurse undertaking postgraduate research study in nursing. Applicants must have been an ACN member for at least the past three years or more.
