Senior police and NSW Ambulance will address the media following the fatal stabbing of a paramedic in Sydney's south west today.
About 5.30am (Friday 14 April 2023), officers from Campbelltown Police Area Command were called to a fast-food restaurant on Queen Street following reports a male paramedic had been stabbed.
The man was treated at the scene and taken to Liverpool Hospital, where he later died.
A 21-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Campbelltown Police Station, where he is currently assisting police with inquiries.
A crime scene was established, which is being forensically examined by specialist officers.
Local detectives have commenced an investigation, with assistance from the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad, into the circumstances surrounding the incident and anyone with information is urged to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
