Georges River Council is proudly celebrating NSW History Week, with Hurstville Museum & Gallery and Georges River Libraries holding multiple events to mark the occasion.

Held from 7 September to 15 September 2024, this year's theme of NSW History Week is 'Marking Time'. It's an opportunity for the community to consider how they commemorate events and histories, and how we mark time.

Georges River Council General Manager David Tuxford said: "NSW History Week is a significant occasion for us at Georges River Council."

"This year's theme, 'Marking Time,' allows us to reflect on how we remember and celebrate our collective past, bringing to life the shared experiences that have shaped our vibrant community."

"I encourage all residents to participate in the events we have planned for NSW History Week. Whether it's attending a walking tour through Carss Bush Park or a visit to the 1920s Tudor House, these activities offer a unique glimpse into the history and culture of our area," he said.
