NSW man charged following alleged pursuit

A man has been charged by officers attached to Operation Count Down, after an alleged pursuit in Bidwell yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 7pm today, Operation Count Down officers attempted to stop a Honda motorcycle travelling along Luxford Road.

It will be alleged the rider failed to stop, and a pursuit ensued where the rider exceeded the sign-posted speed limit.

On Daniel Road, the rider left the bike and attempted to flee on foot into the backyard of a home on the same street.

Police stopped and searched the 43-year-old man, when they located a number of console games, alleged to have been stolen.

The man was taken to Mt Druitt Police Station, where he was charged with police pursuit (not stop/drive dangerously), drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, goods in personal custody suspected of being stolen, and use unregistered motor vehicle.

He was granted conditional bail, to appear at Mt Druitt Local Court on 26 May 2016.

Operation Countdown is a North West Metropolitan Region initiative targeting property crime, including break and enter offences.
