NSW man charged over crash near Lismore

A man has been charged over a crash on the Far North Coast in which a driver sustained serious leg injuries, NSW Police say.

The crash happened on Bangalow Road, Bexhill, about 10km north of Lismore, when a truck laden with gas cylinders and a ute collided shortly before 10am on Friday 5 February 2016.

A 35-year-old man, from Wollongbar, driving the ute sustained serious leg injuries in the crash and was treated in Lismore Base Hospital.

The 57-year-old driver of the truck escaped injury. He has now been issued with a Future Court Attendance Notice (FCAN) for the offences of:

• Dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm

• Negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm

• Use on a road a heavy vehicle that is unsafe.

The man, from West Ballina, is due to appear in Lismore Local Court on Monday 5 September 2016.
