NSW man charged, police seize $188,000 worth of cannabis plants

Police have charged a man over alleged drug offences following a search warrant in Sydney’s south yesterday, NSW Police say.

Officers from the Redfern Region Enforcement Squad established Strike Force Grassy to investigate the enhanced indoor cultivation of cannabis.

About 7pm today, police attached to the strike force executed a search warrant at a home on Burgess Street, Beverley Park.

During the search, officers allegedly located 94 cannabis plants, with an estimated potential street value of $188,000.

A 28-year-old Lakemba man was arrested at the home and taken to St George Police Station.

He was charged with cultivate prohibited plant (commercial quantity), use/consume/waste electricity without authority and supply cannabis leaf.

The man was bail refused to appear before Sutherland Local Court today tomorrow.
