A man has been charged with 17 offences, including allegedly stealing two firearms, after he was arrested in Wellington yesterday, NSW Police say.
On Wednesday 3 August 2016, officers attached to Orana Local Area Command executed a search warrant at a home on Parkes Street, Wellington, where two firearms alleged to have been stolen were located.
About 6am yesterday today, police were called to a home on Gobolion Street, Wellington, following reports of a man who had allegedly broken into the premises.
A 27-year-old man was stopped at the scene, when it’s alleged he attempted to resist arrest and assaulted police.
The man was arrested a short time later and taken to Wellington Police Station.
He has been charged with 17 offences, including break and enter house steal value more than $60,000, goods suspected stolen on premises, possess unauthorised firearm, and possess ammunition without a holding licence.
The man was refused bail, to appear at Dubbo Local Court today tomorrow.
A number of police officers received minor injuries during the incident; however did not require treatment.
